PT Cruiser Club Customizing Tip
"Adding a supercharger to the
PT Cruiser"
Performance stats by PTCCmike

I have tested the
maximum boost at 10 PSI at 6,000 RPM. The boost ramps upward with
RPM. At idle or cruising speed with minimum throttle there is no boost, the
bypass valve is open. When you begin to accelerate the boost comes on and
increases with RPM. I noted the boost at 5-6 at 3,500 RPM while moderately
accelerating from 45 MPH. To rapidly accelerate I only have to put the
pedal down halfway, put it down all the way and easily reach speed limits before
you know it.
For the first time all the stuff dumped out of the storage pocket below the
radio while it made a 2-3 shift in the automatic. I can spin the tires from a
take off on dry pavement.
0-60 time on my supercharged
automatic PT Cruiser is 7.8 seconds.
My 1/4 mile test has not
been done, I have to go to a special location to test it.
